August news.

Stud News…Another huge season awaits, we have mares in foaling pens on constant watch, a steady stream of stallions in for empty out collects and test chills and several mares getting a head start on the season with an August 1 foal the ideal. If you would like to discuss breeding options for your mare or stallion and what is involved, please dont hesitate to call us.If we cant help you we will try hard to find you someone who can.

Congrats to…Shannon B from Dowerin on her dressage success with her new gelding. After many years battling with another horse that just didnt suit, Shannon is enjoying having an easier, helpful and talented horse. It proves again that the world really is full of good horses.

Very exciting….our mares are getting closer to term too. The old biddy (Docs Gay Sarina)is 270 days PPT to Duck N Lethal and looks amazing! Our Spin mare that is 280 days to Salute (smart little lena clone) is going along well too.Everything is crossed for a successful outcome from these and our other pregnancies.

Farrier news… its hoof abcess season already! We are seeing a few cases each week. Most are easily resolved but some require farrier and even veterinary intervention. If you think your horse has an abcess even in its early stages ie lameness with affected hoof resting on point of toe, heat or swelling running up leg or actual signs of pus from hoof, please dont hesitate to call us so we can assist with the decision as to whether a vet is needed urgentlyor not.
