Snaffle bit futurities 2013

Tamworth 2013Well its been run, done and won for another year. Ross and his co-pilot Dad had a hectic trip over with the truck disintergrating about 500km from Tamworth. Some legendary Nyngan locals helped get them back on their way (on a public holiday!) and they made it to Tamworth. Thank you to the mechanics and auto electricians who got the truck sorted whilst Ross went cutting. The horses went well with Destinys Top Cat placing fifth in the snafflebit and Wonder Duck finishing with a 273 for the two rounds. Despite having what looked like a good first round, she didnt score well but made up for it with a great score in the second round to miss the final by only a few points.
Congratulations!Williams Draft- A huge congrats to Sam O on his win in the maiden draft at Williams last weekend on Commander Duck (Duck N Lethal X Spin N Roc). And to Charlie Stait on his 4th in the Open on Sheza Spin, Angus with his 3rd in the Novice A on TMQ Caspin, Freya on her 2nd on SLF Zambooka in the Maiden B, and Tahlia Collins on her 3rd in local draft on Topsy.
Out and AboutAlso enjoying some success is Ross.He finally broke status at Mount Barker on Daddys Diva, making her a restricted open horse. She had to compete against (and nearly got beaten by) her own daughter, Spins my Daddy.
The next weekend Ross put his cutters hat on and competed at a WACHA event at GinGin. Destinys Top Cat had a win in the Snaffle bit on Saturday and PeptoStyle had a win in the same event on the Sunday. Next up, a bit more cutting and then Dardanup and Boar Swamp drafts.
Stud NewsWeaning has begun! And so has breaking in. This is one of our favourite times of year, seeing our babies we have bred coming through for handling or starting. Its exciting to see the best traits of the dam and sire evident in the progeny and to start to plan their career under saddle.
If you would like to purchase a young horse, we have a selection available from weanlings through to ridden horses. Contact us anytime.
Farrier NewsFresh coffee now available in the Barn! When you next have your horse in with us, ask Ross to make you a fresh (and free) pod brewed coffee.
With this wet then dry then hot then cool weather, hoof abcess cases seem to be everywhere! if you think your horse has brewed an abcess, call us anytime to discuss treatment options.
